If you follow me on social media, you know I was at Realm Makers this past week. It was not only my first RM, but my first writer’s conference! Let me tell you, it was one of the most amazing experiences of my entire life. I had the best time and got to meet so many of my online friends. Every single one of them was amazing. I can hardly wait for next year.
While at Realm Makers, I had the pleasure of taking part in a flash interview. It was a ton of fun, though I completely messed up my age. LOL That’s what you get from a sleep deprived introvert writer’s brain that late at night. I’m only human after all. ;)
During the interview, I made the spontaneous announcement that I am going to be using a different pen name to publish my contemporary romance novels. Oh yeah, there’s another spontaneous announcement for you. The contemporary novel I wrote for NaNoWriMo 2016 has turned into a trilogy! Ah! So the new pen name is Jaye Elliot. It’s very similar to Jaye L. Knight but will differentiate between my two very different writing genres. :)
Even though it’s a trilogy, each book can be read as a standalone. While the first book is finished and I hope to publish sooner rather than later, I won’t start working on the next two until I’m finished writing the last book of Ilyon Chronicles.
Since my new name is out there, I wanted to share the Facebook page for it. A shiny new website will come along eventually, but with FB you can keep up with any updates as I post them. Also, you can watch the RM interview below and all laugh with me at my math mistake. If only I were still 20 and not turning 30 in September.
Well that was a surprise! I'm going to miss Ilyon but I'm looking forward to new stories. And a note on turning 30, don't worry, you're allowed to fumble your age then because everyone is embarrassed they asked once you are out of your 20's. ;)ReplyDelete
I'm gonna miss Ilyon Chronicles....but all good books have to come to an end sometime. Maybe this'll be a chance for me to branch out and try other genres!ReplyDelete
I will miss Ilyon as well. The stories are so real in my dreams. I hope you do come back to that genre. Blessings to you.ReplyDelete
Don't worry, I don't think I'd ever leave the spec fic genre behind. These romance novels are just a slight detour. ;)Delete
Awwww! I didn't know you got to do this. HOW FUN!ReplyDelete
It was amazing getting to meet you at RM. I do so hope to get to see you there again one year! <3
I hope all your next writing adventures go amazingly. Looking forward to seeing all your new endeavors!
I don't know if I've ever heard you talking before now, Jaye.ReplyDelete
Congratulations on being a costume finalist. You did an awesome job on that. And since I might not have said it it before, congratulations of being an Alliance finalist.
I like the new pen name. I don't tend to read Romance, especially contemporary romance, but it's not a never, so I'll probably end up reading them out of curiosity.
I love this video SOOO much! Your SOOO adorable!!!! I hope to attend Realm Makers next year (emphasis on hope)! =DReplyDelete
I can't wait for Bitter Winter and Lacy to come out!!! And I LOVED your Assassin's Creed costume!!!ReplyDelete
Your books are some of my all time favorites (along with the Wars of the Realm series)!!! Your story lines are REALLY good!! I found that out when I started writing my own book...
I hope you will continue doing fantasy-adventure stories!! I look forward to them!!!
I loved this interview! So awesome. :D Your costume was EPIC and it was also epic meeting you! Loved loved loved getting to hang out. <3 So excited for Jaye Elliot's first book. ;)ReplyDelete
